If you saw yesterdays video and blog, the picture to the left is what he looked like- Okay, Except for the super hero outfit of course.
No really, he possessed super powers, as our office can attest to.
There are very few things that I'm afraid of, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why it's mice.
My wife reminds me and all of her friends, quite often about when we first got married, and we had a mouse in our house. She re-tells with great detail how her strong brave new husband jumped, okay leaped up onto our couch, to avoid one of those cute, sweet, dirty, disgusting, dreadful, field varmints.
That being said, I do like Mighty Mouse, Tom, Jerry, Mickey, and Minnie. Does that count?
I have what's referred to as Musophobia. I fear mice, not so much rats, but mice. I get hives when I see them and start coughing like I'm going to throw-up. ( see the video)
My body was once covered completly in hives after seeing a large group of them in my wood shed.
What I'm not is Agrizoophobic- I love wild animals and like being out and around them. Nor am I Arachnephobiac. When I was a kid I would let them crawl on my arm or play with them like a yo-yo by grabbing part of their web.
I love heights, chopsticks and clowns. So I'm neither Acrophobiac, Consecotaleophobiac, nor Coulrophobiac!
I'm guessing if you went to the link below, you might find something that bothers you like mice bother me.
http://phobialist.com/When you get a second.......Take a look and get back to me!
P.S. Did I mention that those who we here back from, there names will be entered in a drawing for $100.00 retail value of free Cosmo Cricket products of there choice.

I definately don't have Papyrophobia (fear of paper).
I think I have a bit of Insectophobia (Fear of insects)- particularly large ones. It doesn't matter if they crawl, fly or slither. I pretty much hate all bugs.
I had no idea a person could fear such a thing as kidney disease or body smells. I have learned more than a few things from the phobia website! I hate mice too...their little feet and tails gross me out. Not to mention the mess they leave behind. I have a few other phobias on the list, but wouldn't necessarily call them "fears" but rather "dislikes". Thanks for the 'fun', enlightening post! I'm liking the Chemistry line so much...thanks for that too. =)
Bogyphobia- Fear of bogeys or the bogeyman
- Does this include.... boogies? I don't like those either.
this site was great~ i have Ophidiophobia~ the fear of snakes, ewe it kinda gives me goosebumps typing about them-LOL
Epistemophobia- Fear of knowledge - I definitely don't have this phobia cause I'm a teacher.
WOW! That's a whole lot of phobias!! I think I have pretty typical ones - Claustrophobia and Acrophobia
I don't have many fears, but I'd say that I do have claustrophobia.
How FUNNY! I can tell you that I DON'T have Papyrophobia- Fear of paper. So... feel free to send me some awesome Cosmo Cricket goodies!!! ;)
My 12 year old son can assure you I have:
Bromidrosiphobia or Bromidrophobia- Fear of body smells.
Middle school students are only allowed to come to my school library first thing in the morning. NEVER after lunch, recess or gym!
Let's see... I have Acrophobia- Fear of heights. I'm also afraid of me or especially my children falling off a cliff or high place, but that's not on the list.
Agoraphobia- Fear of open spaces, also known as panic disorder.
Arachnephobia or Arachnophobia- Fear of spiders (that's my biggest!)
Other than that, I'm good! I love mice! But I really loved the video yesterday. That was so funny to watch. He was acting like a hyped up kid. Too funny!
well I know I have a dog with Tonitrophobia(fear of thunder)
I think I am good, but curious if anyone has Walloonphobia? And what exactly is a Walloon?
I certainly don't have papyrophobia fear of paper) either! LOL ... Phobophobia? (fear of phobias) OK that's too weird!!
I have agoraphobia (fear of crowded places & leaving safe places) & arachnophobia (spiders)... anything else is just a dislike rather than a fear.
I have an ex with Batrachophobia (frogs) - he was such a big guy & frogs are soooo little (& not vermin like mice) that I'm afraid I found it v. funny! Is that very mean of me
Oh my... Mnemophobia! Maybe this is why I have such a hard time remembering everything!!!
(Fear of memories)... LOL!
Well, i'm thinking we have a Phobia-ful Family lol.
I am most definitely Coulrophobia- to me, clowns are sooooo creepy. Let's just say that the sight of them makes me want to...hmmm...have a little accident lol.
My husband is definitely Arachnophobic. He literally leaps into rooms like a superhero at the sight of one- lol, sometimes it's pretty funny.
And last but not least, little Riley, my 1 year old pup. This little monster is most definite Cathisophobic. He definitely has a fear of sitting, lol, he just can't do it.
Thanks for sharing. I really did learn a lot. I probably picked up some new fears just for reading some of the list lol.
:)
Sara
It's a bird.. it's a plane.... it's a traversing super mouse!!
Ichthyophobia- Fear of fish.
Yes, I am afraid of those horrible, scaly, oily creatures! Yuck, I shiver just thinking about fish.
I too have Musophobia or Muriphobia- Fear of mice.(Dead or alive) I once ran over one in our garage, then wouldn't go out there until it was removed ...severe weemie jeemies, which also includes Rats, possums, and anything in the rodent family(hamsters, gerbils etc) its a genetic thing mom is too......also have Fear of Heights but not as bad as above...While had a good laugh at your video, understood totally! Probably would have been standing on the desk though if it was me!!!Thanks for the chance!
I definitely have Aichmophobia (fear of needles)... I once passed out when I got my ears pierced and I have an anxiety attack and pass out every time I have to have blood drawn. It's terrible. Awesome idea for a blog post though!
Oh yeah, Amnesiphobia, the fear of amnesia... if you get amnesia, will you remember that you had the phobia? Hmmm....
Who knew there were several that applied. I don't know if all of them are to the extent of being phobias except one, but here they are:
Achluophobia-fear of darkness
Apiphobia-fear of bees
Herpetophobia-fear of reptiles or creepy, crawly things
Pnigophobia-fear of being smothered (more so a fear of not breathing)
Yikes! I'm messed up! :-p
Wow you have an awesome cricket site would you consider doing a link exchange with my cricket site? If you do please email me the details of your site that you would like me to put on my site. When you have added my site let me know and I will immediately add you site on mine, in my "blog roll".
My site's details are:
Site name: Cricket, the Brilliant Game
Web: www.whoplayscricket.com
Keep up the good work!
Rob
Well, it's not on the list, but since having children, I have a fear of using public restrooms. Actually it's more of a disgust. Not that I loved using them before, but now, it just makes my skin crawl to HAVE to use them at all.
Well, I'm not overly fond of spiders (Arachnephobia) because one walked across my face once in the middle of the night. Blech!!!
OMG, we have those stupid, cute, but oh-so-annoying little critters in this oh-so-ancient-house-that-is-situated in a field, of mine. I HATE THEM!! I nearly stepped on a dead one this morning...that my oh-so-wonderful kitty cats tortured to death and left at the bottom of the stairs for me. I definitely feel your phobia!!
I definitely have Gymnophobia - Fear of nudity.
I have a fear of going to bed naked, and waking up in a hospital somewhere...knowing the paramedics or fire department found me that way. LOL!
I have a lot of dislikes for clowns, spiders, things like that, but I haven't run across anything that give me hives or uncontrollable fear.
My husband for sure has
Trypanophobia - the fear of injections
haha ok, maybe this for when my girls get older!
Ephebiphobia- Fear of teenagers
The first one that comes to mind is Allodoxaphobia (Fear of opinions)with the current election and all. I think I developed some fears after reading that list. I had no idea that people could be afraid of such things, much less have a term to describe them.
Mottephobia - the fear of moths - not so sure I am glad it has a name. I have been known to laugh at bees, yellow jackets, spiders, etc., but let a moth come into my space and I freak out. Just the way they fly around, gives me the chills.
I must admit I have....Ergophobia- Fear of work.
I definitely have a fear of mice too! I used to stay over at my friend's house after an encounter and hope I would come home to them in the trap....though I always got my neighbor to take it out of the house. No way was I touching that!
Free Cosmo Cricket goodies would be a great way to block these memories!
Since I since I saw the 2nd grade Fire Prevention Demonstration---->Pyrophobia- Fear of fire.
I fear all things that involve fire and things that can start fires... fire places, gas stoves, jack-o-lantern w/ candles, fireworks, thunderstorms, matches... you name it, I have nightmares about it.
I need some candy to try to recover...
What a list!! My friends and family would say that I have Atelophobia (fear of imperfection), but I don't think that's true! I would say that I have decidophobia - which is the fear of making decisions! :) LOL!
Wow....I am scared of several things! Mice and spiders, roaches, vomiting.....I could go on and on. I totally would have been jumping on chairs(you get the idea). :)
hi again from Scotland...
I couldn't find mine - but the closest would be Lygophobia- Fear of darkness.
I'm not actually scared of the dark, its more what could be lurking in the dark
If I have a bad dream in the middle of the night, I'm too scared to get up and go to the bathroom - have to go and switch just about every light on in the house, just in case something or someone is lurking in the dark.
Yes I know its daft, and yes I know I'm supposed to be a grown up at 35 years of age.
My other fear has to be a fear of drowning, but I couldnt find that either
D
x
How funny! I love being surprised and delighted by a post...this was so fun. As someone mentioned...there are certainly a LOT of phobias. I am certain I do not have Logophobia- Fear of words. But I think a I do have a little of claustrophobia...
Or what was that one...the fear of chins?
Thanks for the fun!
Shae
I couldn't find my fear (earthquakes/natural disasters) on the list so I went with a close second: Ophidiophobia (fear of snakes). ICK!
The following would best describe me:
Belonephobia- Fear of pins and needles. (Aichmophobia)
I shudder at the thought of getting my blood drawn, getting a shot, etc.
My big fears are Claustrophobia and Acrophobia (heights/falling from heights. I had to LOL at this one: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words
I have to tell you my mouse story!! My husband and I had bought our first house and did tons of work on it and were so proud when my dad came from Nebraska to visit. We insisted on giving him the master bedroom and were going to sleep on the floor in the living room. Well the day he got there I had chili in the crockpot so it would be ready when I got home from work and he arrived. When I pulled out the crackers for the meal there was the EVIDENCE of a mouse. I was so embarrased but my hubby was a little more upset than I would have guessed him to be. He hurried out to get more crackers and also came home with a trap. Which after everyone went to bed he set in the kitchen (which in this house was open to the livingroom!!) I didn't think he would even be able to sleep he was so worried about that mouse!! So after everything was quiet for a couple hours we hear the SNAP and he very cautiously goes into the kitchen to see if he caught it and being the jokester that I am I sneak in and toss a rubber bat (it was halloween time) about the time he bends over to look at the trap!!! HE HIT THE ROOF!!! We woke up everyone in the house with his yelling and my histerical laughter!! That was about 15 years ago and we still talk about it!
Anyway, I have a few of the phobias listed but I don't want to tell my husband for the FEAR of him getting me like I got him!! Fun post!
I fear my husband finding out how much I spend on scrapbooking stuff. I didn't see any names for that on the Phobia list. =) When I order something I hurry up and bring it to my craft room so that I don't hear it from him. If only all men were understanding of our need to create!
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words. That just gives me the heebie jeebies!
I definitely have Acrophobia, a fear of heights! Didn't start out that way, but after a few falls, I am now terrified of heights. I tend to think mice are cute - just nasty. YUK!
I have a terrible case of Claustrophobia. But no problems with Cathisophobia (fear of sitting down!).
I have Claustrophobia- Fear of tight or confined spaces, and Coulrophobia- Fear of clowns (have this one MAJOR!!) :D
I'm just glad the Phobia list didn't include pictures :)
I have equinophobia when in the mountains surrounded by cactus. Long funny, really funny story. The hit at many family gatherings.
Way worse then Lindsay jumping up and down like a girl on camera for all to see,(wait is Lindsay reading this?)
I have agoraphobia, Anthropophobia- Fear of people or society.
I'd have great fun if I had Anglophobia- Fear of England or English culture, etc. since I live in England lol
me I am Arachnophobia, cant stand them!!! I have to get hubby to get them for me if I find one
I didn't have to go down the list very far....
Aeroacrophobia- Fear of open high places.
Someday I am going to go scuba diving! Even if I don't get over my fear of sharks... selachophoia. YIKES!!!
;-)
I had no idea there was a fear of Dutch. Wow, what a long list. Not to be too serious here but I'd have to say the one that most closely matches me is Cancerophobia or Carcinophobia- Fear of cancer.
I guess this would pretty much fit a lot of people.
Good luck with the mice!
Arachnophobia is my fear. Big,little, black, light, long legs, short legs makes no difference. I would rather face a hungry black bear!!!
Wow! What a list! I have always had acrophobia or fear of heights and thats really about it. Mice don't bother me, but killing one would so if I have one in my house I catch it in a paper bag and turn it loose! I don't want them in my home but I don't want to take out a dead one in a trap either YUCK!
Lisa in Texas
Rhytiphobia- Fear of getting wrinkles.
Scelerophibia- Fear of bad men, burglars.
Tyrannophobia- Fear of tyrants.
Okay, here are some of my fears. Amazing that Wrinkles is one of them. LOL
Okay, first of all, I'd like to say that I am a therapist so I have been at least AWARE of my phobias...perhaps didn't know exactly what to call them. Okay, here goes:
Chickens (live ones, childhood trauma - don't ask) alektorophobia
Chins (the anatomical part of the face, not the Chinese people named Chin) geniophobia
Tyrants - tyrannophobia (which I think sounds more like fear of dinosaurs, specifically tyranosaurus rex.) :-)
There you have it. Me in a "NUT" shell!
I have Mice-Musophobia, Murophobia or Suriphobia too! Serious, like you I cannot come in contact with these creatures, it's not pretty. I remember once when spotting one, I flew, somehow I had super powers and really flew upon a chair, it wasn't a step up on one, I really flew upon that chair. Since we live out in the country, we really have to be on top of the rodent control. We use a product called Blue Death, and it must be use to prevent these creatures from checking in to their not to be hotel. Okay now I have the heebie jeebies.
great, now i need therapy...as do apparently my husband who has Menophobia and Cyberphobia, and my daughter who has Metathesiophobia and Trypanophobia...me? just a mild case of Claustrophobia, Coulrophobia and Glossophobia...not to mention Phobophobia...calling for the therapist appt tomorrow...if we live that long...
chelle
I have
Katagelophobia- Fear of ridicule. I don't like it if people were to make fun of me.
Here is my phobia: Aichmophobia- Fear of needles. I freak out when I have to have blood drawn or get shots.
Motorphobia- Fear of automobiles.
But to be more specific... DRIVING cars... scares me so badly. I don't think I'll ever become a driver. :(
Batophobia- Fear of heights or being close to high buildings.
I am deathly afraid of heights, especially high bridges! I avoid those at all costs, including not visiting with friends unless they come to this side of that bridge!
For me it is Claustrophobia.....but I have it under control. ;)
Wow, who knew? Whenever I head to the mall I feel my Ephebiphobia (fear of teenagers) flaring up. They are scary, I mean it. To be feared, for sure. And I can't believe I was ever one...lol!
I didn't see one relating to fear of feet - I do not like my feet or seeing peoples' feet. Anyways, this one jumped out at me - Taeniophobia - fear of tapeworms. I love sushi but my sister who is a doctor doesn't eat raw fish because of her fear......
Glossophobia - fear of public speaking, I start sobbing no matter what.
Arachnophobia is the one I think of first, but Pnigophobia (fear of being smothered) is on the list. :) I never realized that that my almost irrational dislike at not being able to breath fresh air had a name.
I did not see anything about a fear of throwing up. I'm terrified of that and I will have a panic attack!!
Well, if you feel about mice the way I feel about spiders, I totally get your reaction. I'm horribly arachnophobic. *shudder*
Without a doubt I'm snakephobic. Luckily in Hawaii we don't have big snakes and we're trying really hard to keep it that way!!
Totally Hypsiphobia. I can't look out a second story window without getting a bit woozy:( Forget about getting onto an airplane:(
I use to have the fear of bridges but then moved to a place where I would have to go across a large bridge 4 times a day, and finally got over it.
I didn't have to peruse the list very far at all ... as I have acrophobia, a fear of heights! Also, a fear of some insects, insectophobia!
I have Necrophobia- The fear of death... a big fear of death!
Well, it's obvious that my Mom has Ataxophobia, but I didn't inherit that! I used to think I had Claustrophobia, but I think I actually have Cleithrophobia or Cleisiophobia- Fear of being locked in an enclosed place. I also have Snakephobia or Ophidiophobia (fear of snakes).
I'm afraid of walking in the dark outside. What is that called? And snakes, hate them!
I couldn't find it on the list, but I am afraid of leaving the ground. I have no trouble flying or sitting on horseback, but lift me off the ground and I scream. For some reason large men feel they have to lift you of the ground to give you a hug. This scares the life out of me.
That video was HILARIOUS!! I actually want a pet mouse. I think they're cute. Sorry Mr. Lindsay (um, please don't disqualify me from your contest-would it help to say that I LOVE COSMO CRICKET FOR ALL INFINITY AND ETERNITY!?)
Automatonophobia- Fear of ventriloquist's dummies, animatronic creatures, wax statues - anything that falsly represents a sentient being.
cant say FEAR but I dont like them!
Aichmophobia or Belonephobia Needles OMG I cant even watch people on TV get a shot or blood draw with out getting sick
I too have Musiphobia. Can't stand those critters. And I surely don't have Papyrophobia. (If you could only see my paper stash! LOVE the stuff!)
Wow - quite a list! I think I sometimes have agoraphobia and the one about ventriloquist dummies...there was a movie about that wasn't there? And also little carved statues sort of creep me out. I didn't see that on there...it stemmed from a scary movie where the statue lost it's anklet and then went around the apartment stabbing the inhabitants...or something like that..
How hilarious!! You guys crack me up!!!
I have Ophidiophobia - HUGE fear of snakes. Alligators, too. Pretty much anything scaley.
And definitely mice. They scare the crap out of me. My domesticated cat Mitzi caught one a few years ago and was just batting it around playing with it in the living room. Well, I thought she was just playing with one of her toy mice so I went and sat down next to her to play with her and um, SURPRISE, it was a LIVE mouse! I literally almost had a heart attack and I am not kidding.
I guess she had no clue she was supposed to kill it!
Anyway, since then, they scare the crap out of me. Yuck yuck yuck!!
I definitely don't have Euphobia- Fear of hearing good news...I think Cosmo Cricket is awesome and hope to hear good news on winning some blog candy. Yipee!
First, your video yesterday had me crying I was laughing so hard!! THAT was genuine fear, but SUPER DUPER funny hearing your laugh.
I don't mind mice, but I have a BAD case of achondroplasiaphobia (fear of Midgets). I'm not sure what it is, but I freeze in place and my eyes start watering...not crying, just watering. I think it's because they are stuck open as far as they'll go and not blinking (because I'm frozen in place so s/he can't see me). I'm not sure what I'd do if one tapped me on the leg. Thinking about it has spiked my heart rate. =)
Wow! Who knew there were so many phobias...with names! I think this one is up my alley: Automysophobia- Fear of being dirty. I think this has intensified since my kids started school...I make them change clothes and wash their hands when they get home because who knows where they have been sitting and what they have been touching!
I am certainly an over-achiever, thus I have atychiphobia (the fear of failure).
and it's pretty hilarious that the fear of big/long words is the longest phobia!!
Some mornings it feels like I have Ergophobia-fear of work. No, but really, I just have the plain ol' Acrophobia-fee of heights.
I too do not like mice, I had a little baby one in my room that almost jumped in my bed when I was in it. I had to get rid of him because everyone else was asleep. So I tricked him to get on one of those glue tracks, scooped him up in a little box and into the garbage he went. They give me the willies.
I have Ophidiophobia (so scared of snakes and so is my MOM). Its always fun to visit your COOL blog.
I found out I have Achluophobia (fear of darkness) and Arachnophobia (fear os spiders)... I didn't know there where so many phobias!
I have a DEFINITE fear of snakes - I am so intrigued by them yet so scared!
This is my first blog comment ever!
What I really can't bear is metal rubbing against metal, mainly spoons in saucepans-urgh! I looked this up and I found metallophobia- Fear of metal, I don't think I have this as I love scissors (especially when I am using them to cut up lovely Cosmo Cricket paper!).
Ophidiophobia-EEEK-Now that I know I have an official disorder maybe I can quit my job!
Well, I don't have Pogonophobia - or the fear of beards. Good thing, since my hubby has a wonderful gotee. Definitely not a Taphephobiac (cemeteries) or Nephophobiac (clouds). Now, I COULD be a Genuphobiac (knees) - mine are hideous! Perhaps I can create a new one - "Oldmotherhubbardaphobia" - the fear of having empty shelves. I'm DEFINITELY a food horder! MUST have food on the shelves to eat!
I apparently have Ataxophobia- Fear of disorder or untidiness.
I didn't know there was a name for it. But I have nightmares about being forced to live in a messy unclean environment. :))
Bromidrosiphobia or Bromidrophobia- Fear of body smells.
that is just great i work n a gov. low income office...not to stereotype but it can get pretty smelly.
mine is Ophidiophobia.... fear of snakes.... i would hurt myself just seeing one..
Well, my irrational fear of squirrels doesn't seem to warrant a phobia name!
Fire! Severe fear of fire! LOL!
Arsonphobia or Pyrophobia.
Well, count me in on the mice list. Those things, well, ewwwwww, I hate em!!!!
Snakephobia- Fear of snakes. (Ophidiophobia) - definitely!!
MICE STINK!!! They have an awefull smell :( Lucky we don't have them in our new house but before we moved in here we lived in an old house and our Cats Tom and Sam had a blast catching those dirty things and play with them untill they where bored and then they brought them to me. LUCKY ME!! NOT!!!! They are really yucky little creatures.
But that was maybe because the cats made them bleed and that made me sick :)
But i am afraid of spiders and I scream the whole house together to get someone here to remove it. Mostly my 7 year old neighboor girl comes on spider hunt here ;) hahahaha
hugs ria
Evidently I have dentophobia. My biggest fear did not have a name so I guess I have to make one up. I suffer from:alligator under the bedaphobia which leads to:don't let your feet dangle from the bedaphobia. I attribute this to being raised in Fla. near the Everglades.
I so have Arachnephobia or Arachnophobia- Fear of spiders and Trypanophobia- Fear of injections.
One of my greatest fears is Arachnophobia- Fear of spiders because they are so small but can do so much damage if biten by one!
Apiphobia- Fear of bees.Scared to death of them. FAll is the hardest time for me to be outside. They freak me out.
One word for you.......VTech electronic mouse traps, I have a picture of them on my blog. That will get them every time, even before you SEE them!!!
I live next to town with corn fields across from me, so every fall we go through the mouse migration. Sometimes it is one or two, sometimes 4-5 until it stops.
That video freaked me out and I didn't even SEE the mouse. I have that same fear. I loathe the little things, I am a chair hopper, screamer, almost pee my pants kind of mice hater.
I have a 2 gallon zip lock bag full of wood mouse traps (about 25 of them)that I store in a big plastic container. One little sign of a mouse, I drag them out and load them all up with a sunflower seed and a bit of peanut butter. I get real clever and tuck the seed under that little arm that sticks out, then slap the PB over it so they have to work to get it, because sometimes the trap is empty and not set. They are tricky. I got on the internet to find out how to best set up the traps. They recommend three in a row facing the wall, this way if they run across one, they will not escape 3 traps. !!!
Whenever my college age son comes home to see all the traps, he announces that the MOUSE TRAP land mine is a treacherous one to maneuver. Then he starts teasing me with pokes in the ribs whenever I am checking the traps.
I won't empty the traps or go anywhere near them, I hate them so much. If I am in a situation where there is nobody to remove them, I use a long handled broom to sweep them into a dust pan, trap and all and toss them into the yard until my hubby can take them out.
No trap is re-used, except the Vtech one, the wooden ones are tossed with the mouse in them!
I sometimes use sticky traps next to the wooden ones because they have tried to get away if not killed by the wooden ones. All I can say is, it is a good thing I have no small children at home. I'd have to put them in day care until I caught the mouse.
However, that electric trap gets them EVERY SINGLE TIME!
That video is so darn funny! I have demophobia (fear of crowds). I also have Ophidiophobia (fear of snakes). When I was 7-8 months pregnant, and huge, a kid came into my work with a snake around his neck. My boss was on a call and I went running into his office, slammed the door and jumped on his chair. He was laughing so hard that he hung up on the caller!
Oh my I think I could write a book about all my fears.
Achluophobia- fear of darkness (yes I can admit I am afraid of the dark)
Asymmetriphobia- Fear of asymmetrical things. It's not that I am afraid persay ,it just gives me a headache if things are not balanced.
Gephyrophobia- fear of crossing briges. I have been know to sit on the floorboard while we drive over a big bridge.
Okay I think I will stop now.Although I did find a funny one I hope Jay Leno does not have
Geniophobia- Fear of chins. lol
Wow, that was quite a complete list! I didn't know someone could be afraid of infinity, or gravity. I have the usuals too, slight claustrophobia and arachnophobia.
Ranidaphobia - fear of FROGS!!! I got the willies just typing the word. Eww, those buggy eyes and slimy skin.... and they'll POUNCE when you least expect it. No warning!! LOL, I hope I get a Cosmo shopping spree :)
Gotta disagree, rats are more icky than mice. Neither are welcome in my house.
Wow- I see a lot on that page that could apply. I have always thought I was afraid of heights but actually I think it's this:
Aeroacrophobia- Fear of open high places
What a breakthrough! This makes more sense! I hate being on a balcony or edge of a cliff (hiking). It's not so much how high it is but just the fact that it's not enclosed!I am also not fond of mice... the video was hysterical!
My biggest fears---
Achluophia---fear of dark (esp when hubby isnt home and I hear a "noise!")
Thanathophobia-fear of death (not so much death itself but the HOW!)
BUT MY BIGGEST FEAR---
CosmoCricketlessaphobia---fear of not having any Cosmo Crocket paper to design with!
cammie22@hotmail.com
I'm an arachnaphobe.....spiders make me sick! It's the worst when the kids spot one and I have to be the brave one and take care of it. eewww
My list could go on and on...lol but heres a big one
Cleithrophobia or Cleisiophobia- Fear of being locked in an enclosed place.
Spiders. I hate spiders. I'm terrified of them. I will start crying if I see one. Except for Daddy Long Legs for some reason. They just don't seem as scary to me.
think I have a bit of Insectophobia (Fear of insects and snakes!but i think anything that crawl or fly make me shake
Sorry for laughing at your video yesterday but Mr. Lindsey's reaction to a mouse is the same I have to spiders so I completely undertand - maybe that is why I thought it was funny because I have done the same thing.
I definitely have Arachnephobia. Just thinking about spiders makes me squirmy and my toes curl - literally! Ok, enough already, I got to think about something else now.
I think I'm typical with Claustrophobia! :) That's alot of phobias!
What a fun site to wander through~I had no idea!
One thing I DO know is that I don't have Euphobia... so go ahead: hit me with some GOOD NEWS on this blog first thing tomorrow morning!
My favorite part of the video from yesterday was Lindsay comparing the mouse to RAMBO! (snicker!)
Gephyrophobia (fear of bridges). How lovely for me that I live in "The City of Bridges" and have to drive across one everyday to get to work.
When I had to drive across the floating bridge in Seattle I desperately wanted to just close my eyes and let someone else steer!
Holy Moly! I had no idea there were so many things to be afraid of. I don't know if I have a true fear but I don't like spiders & am not real comfortable with tight spaces.
I guarantee you that my husband has Phalacrophobia (the fear of being bald), but what he doesn't realize is that I do NOT have Peladophobia (fear of bald people). I think they are sexy!
Well, I'm a bit late on the comments....BUT...hello Lindsay. So sorry for your experience! I too have Musophobia. I had a horrible experience as a teen...one ran under my foot, and didn't quite make it. Ugh...just the thought of it is disgusting! You guessed it, he got squished under my foot! Made a horrible sound, and my foot has never been the same! Shoes...in the garbage! Kind of icky!
I also do not like bugs too much...insectophobia...or snakes...snakephobia!
This is hilarious--our entire office was a sounding board just like that about 3 weeks ago -- you could hear the echoes as the little guy made his way around. I guess mine must be: Acrophobia
Well, the things I'm afraid of, I cannot find on the list. I'm afraid of terrorism and global warming (just makes me nervous about the future of our planet when I see the stories about the polar bears having no where to go because the ice is gone! Egads!)
I do dislike something very much, and it's on the list. I have Emetophobia. I won't say what it is. It's kinda gross!
I dislike rodents, snakes, and spiders very much, but I really think that is VERY common! Anyway, this list is interesting! I had no idea there were so many phobias!!
i have Gephyrophobia (fear of bridges)!!! ESP. THE DELEWARE BRIDGE!!!PICK ME!!!PICK ME!! JEN T.
I'm with you on the mice thing. I have friends that are big outdoor hiker/backpackers and they have told me stories of having to sleep with their sleeping bags open at both ends to let the little guys run through at night! It gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it!
I used to have Urophobia in public places. If there was even one person in the restroom, I wouldn't go! I have gotten over it...I really have to tell myself..."There's no one there!" I know...weird.
I have complete Arsonphobia or Pyrophobia depending on whatever you wish to call it. I don't even like lighting candles in the house and any candles I get as gifts get regifted. Horrible I know. Now I just blame my fear on the massive amounts of paper I have in my house for scrapbooking!
Hmm, I couldn't find one of mine ... I am not afraid of heights, I am afraid of falling from high places. If I'm up high but feel like I won't fall, then I'm fine.
I'm also afraid of most insects and crawly things, so I also have Entomophobia
I used to have Ephebiphobia - fear of teenagers - when my kids were teenagers because they had Hypengyophobia - fear of responsibility! Now that they have grown and gone from home I have Agoraphobia - fear of leaving a safe place - in case they come back while I'm gone!! - (just kidding)
Your list was incredible. I had no idea there were so many fears out there. Although, I have to say that I am terrified of small crawling things like spiders, mice, bugs -- OK, maybe more than I want to admit...
I have a big arachnophobia problem. I can't see them in books or on the tv, most definitely in NOT in real life! LOL
I am terrified of scorpions. No, I have never even seen one, but after moving to AZ it was all I could think about. And hearing stories of friends say they were stung in their beds whilst sleeping does not help my fear one bit!
That list is awesome! I definitely need to spend a little more time there since I have a list of a ton of phobias...claustrophobia being one of the worst.
I never thought a mouse in my house would bother me, until there was one in my stamping room. I felt so violated. And I was doing a lot more squealing than you. I called my dh home from work. He locked me in the room with it so I could keep an eye on it while he got something to try to trap it. Needless to say my sister who was on the other side of the door was laughing hysterically.

Thanks for the phobia link... I now know that I suffer from Ichthyophobia -- a fear of fish. I hate swimming in any body of water containing fish, and I break out in a cold sweat if I have to walk by a wall of fish tanks in a pet store. I had a friend who claimed to suffer from a fear of mayonnaise. I couldn't find it on the list, but maybe we can call it Hellmanophobia?
I'm sure I don't have Dutchphobia - Fear of the Dutch. It would be pretty annoying scaring yourself every time you like in the mirror.

Coulrophobiac. Yep, that's me. Hate clowns. And mice...boy do I have mouse stories...mice in boots (my 5 year old son's) mice in toasters (my cousins...but it was me making the toast) mice in tubs...you name it, I probably have the story to go with it.
Nice, eh :)
Altophobia- Fear of heights
Hydrophobia- Fear of water or of rabies...I have a fear of water...but what the heck does water have to do with rabies?
Hypsiphobia- Fear of height.
Batophobia- Fear of heights or being close to high buildings.
Acrophobia- Fear of heights.
Ok...there are way too many for the fear of heights.
Well I guess I have: Bathmophobia- Fear of stairs or steep slopes. I always feel as if I am falling or being pulled down. Also I couldn't actually find a name for the precise phobia, but I have a fear of looking out into darkness that is unfamiliar. I am always afraid of something jumping out at me... LOL!!!!
