Farewell Forever Fat Friday!

Did you think I forgot?

I didn't, it's just been a crazy morning. Anyway, I didn't get to say farewell to anymore fat. It's like a guest that has overstayed it's visit. I really want it to leave, but I think I've made the accommodations to comfortable! Or maybe it's just my charming personality. I think it might be lonely without me. Although, I did draw the line at letting any of its friends come crash our party. In other words, I didn't gain any and I didn't lose any either.

How did you do? Up or down. Happy or sad. Let us know and you could win a Gretel Collection with the Buck Naked Alphabuttons to make Krista's cute project below. Along with a Jack's World set, just for the fun of it.

PS: You don't have to post your weight, weight loss or gain, just give us some encouragement and you can be entered to win the prize too!

To tell the truth, I think you did fantastic if you went on a trip of any kind and didn't gain any weight.
My fat cells believe it's mandatory to bring home souvenirs of any trip.

I am at a plateau! No gain or loss either this week. BUT I did start doing better with my eating habits . Well except for that cookie dough I had to buy from my son's fund raiser! lol :) Good luck next week!

Ugh. I'm too scared to even check the scale! Good job on not gaining, though.

Tracey said...

Congrats to you!! I really need to get motivated on this whole weight loss thing.

just me....lynn said...

Keep up the good work. My best advice is to just stay off the scale except for once a month and to just take it a day at a time!!

Heather said...

I'm sorta flat lined right now (or for the past 2 months). I'm hoping with the holidays I can at least stay and not gain! Crossing my fingers this week, Gretel is my fav!

Having been away and all - I think you did a fab job staying at the same weight!
I've been cheating a bit - so I've been too scared to check... I do have another method :) When I smile if I can see the tops of my cheeks - gained!, if not, then I'm still at a good spot! hee, hee...
Thnx! ~ margie

I think it is awesome that you didn't gain any weight while you were gone. It is always harder to lose when you aren't the one preparing the food.
I've been at goal for a year and half......this was a tough week though.

toniw said...

If you didn't gain that is surely something to celebrate, especially when a trip is involved. My advice (as long as you don't use it as an excuse ;) - You can always start fresh tomorrow, just don't beat yourself up about a slip-up today. - Toni W.

Keep up the good work...it's a tough battle. Why does it have to be so NOT fun?

JJ said...

Talk about a plateau... I trained and trained for weeks and weeks, ran a 1/2 marathon and didn't budge a single pound! How can that POSSIBLY happen? Maybe it was the Starbucks...

Erica Hettwer said...

Well, I'm pregnant so I'm supposed to gain weight! LOL! I actually am now just getting into my maternity pants because I lost almost 20 pounds before I got pregnant and I still had all my "fat" clothes around. Hee!

I have hit a plateau. This is the most difficult time of the year. Today I had to throe the rest of the Halloween candy away. It was way to tempting! Keep up the good work!

Kristin said...

Darn Halloween Candy... the kids haven't had much of it because it is out of their reach, but it isn't out of mine. I am up a pound, but considering the candy and goodies I have had recently that isn't too bad.

Off to a crop tonight - must try to get a lot done and not to eat too much junk food!

Becca said...

I'm with you...nothing lost nothing gain! Way to maintain!!! I consider that an accomplishment!

Rebecca Keppel said...

After a month of going UP UP UP with all that Halloween chocolate around, I finally started going down. Ok it's only .8 but still I am headed in the right direction again!

Still losing and feeling great. Thanks for having the challenge on your blog. It helps keep me modivated!

I feel your pain. I have been on a plateau for weeks, but I am not giving up. Rome wasn't built in a day and the pounds didn't just decide one day to say "hey, her thighs are thin, let's fix that!" Stick with it... :)

Kimmie said...

well honestly im afraid to look. I have been exercising but it just feels like i havent lost anything

Tracy said...

I've put on the pounds lately, but I hope to lose some weight now that I'm all done with SCHOOL!!

I hope everyone else is doing GREAT!

I've been on a "weight loss journey" for about a year now, and have hit a plateau at 15 pounds. I've been the same now for about 4 months! But hey, at least i'm not gaining. This week I lost a half pound. Still better than going the other way. My fitness coac always says "slow and steady wins the race."

Lorraine said...

Great job not gaining! It's so easy to say what the heck! You can get back on the diet wagon next week!

I'm at a plateau, but I'm ok with that. Good luck to everyone else!

I lost 3 lbs! WOW, don't know where it came from, but WOO HOO! Let's hope for the same next week ;)

Tricia Wilson said...

I have lost a total of 26 so far. Crazy thing is it's not very noticeable to others yet. I can't wait to someone I know says, "Hey, have you lost weight?".

jennie said...

Same same for me...hopefully next week things will start moving for me!

Good luck next week everyone!!!

Been stuck at the same weight for a month and it's not great, but better than a gain! Keep up the good work all - it will show as a loss soon.

I'm glad that you haven't gained any weight on your trip. I'm maintaining - not losing but not gaining!

Brooke,

A rhyme?!?! A rhyme must be replied!

First one that I learned as a child:
Fatty and Skinny went to bed.
Fatty rolled over and Skinny was dead.

I tell Eric that I want to be the survivor!

OK, now a custom rhyme.
In the US of A we do supersize
Our french fries, our sodas and also our thighs.
We're gonna do better, We're gonna get thin.
If we all stick together, we're all gonna win.
So get off that couch, now do what I say
And we'll all be skinny by CH of A.

i recently bought smaller size jeans...and i'm not even trying to lose weight...not that i don't need too, but it's nice being rewarded for not stressing about it!! good luck at the next weigh in....

Maintaining is ok :)
I am starting today...been for a walk, done grocery shopping which included lots of fruit and veg,and am going to try to be lighter by Christmas. Think I will keep checking in here for encouragement :)
Have a great day!

Thanks Julie. I too love a good rhyme. And yes, I think I'll stay on the couch, at least for the last few remaining weeks. ;)

I have been plateaued for most of my middle aged life...it's as tho my metabolism has compltely died. BOO! I used to be able to lose weight either exercising OR cutting down on soda (pop). Now I do BOTH to no avail! ARGH! Infernal mid life crisis!

PS Please enter me in the contest...I need to console myself with scrap goodies

Alex S. said...

At least your trying to lose weight...here I am just sitting around and I have a gym membership...but not motivated enough to go!! I'm going to try my best to see if I can get out there next week.

Colette said...

It's okay to plateau...especially after a trip!! Don't give up now!! You're doing awesome. Shake up the workout and walk backwards to work different muscles. (I recommend you do that on a tredmill so as to not freak the neighbors out...hahaha!! That *would* be HILARIOUS though!!)

pattyb said...

I've been trying and I was doing really well there for awhile (going to the gym and watching what I eat), but these last two weeks have been crazy. But I got on a scale yesterday and low and behold I lost a pound. Yeah! Now that's encouragement.

So here's my encouragement for everyone trying their best...

GO! GO! GO! YOU CAN DO IT!

Kim Holmes said...

I don't know what the scale would tell me today---but I am going with the happy thoughts that I ate a lot better this week and stayed away from processed foods!

I wanna gain the Give Thanks banner y'all made! =) I actually just found out I'm prego with number 3...right after I got my new Jari Love Lean to the Core DVD's in. Good timing huh? Haha. Story of my life.

Jennifer Holmes said...

Well, up one pound. But with all the workouts I've squeezed in this week, I'm convinced it's fresh fat and it will be exiting the building very soon.

jeneaevan said...

Congratulations on not gaining any weight on your trip (that is very hard not to do!)

I am sitting at 27lbs lost this year. I have been maintaining this weight for a few months now. Really would like to lose more, so I will keep trying.

No gain is a good thing.
I never had a weight issue until I quit smoking a year ago, and gained 30 lbs. Can you say freak out! I did, and have been fighting to get it off, without going back to smoking. It's hard, really hard. I did find this book after reading an article in a magazine. It's called "Crack the Fat-Loss code, by Wendy Chant. I can tell you this book is really good, and it works if followed. I dropped 10 lbs, the first week on this program. I picked my copy up at Barnes & Noble, and Wendy does have a website, you can get more info there. Now someone needs to go get Hollywood fat,so we can stop worrying about this issue. LOL

Barbara Ferguson said...

First time in a long time I was actually thrilled with what my scales showed me this morning! I'm starting to go downward, again!! =) Why is it so easy to put it on, but a bear to take it off? GRRRR!
I keep telling myself, and others, one day at a time. If you fall off the wagon one day, pick yourself up and start fresh the next.

Julie M said...

Keep up the good work - haven't commented before, I've been lurking for ages, but had no blogger account. Now I can finally encourage you (and have a chance to win something!!!!).;)

I am posting because I DID lose....not a significant loss, but I've been soooo good I have to share! 1.1 more down the drain...gone -hopefully never coming back! I'm almost at 1/3 of what I want to lose. Not exactly earth shattering but to me it's a step in the right direction! It's never to late to start! And if you are on a plan, keep it up!! You'll make it even if you fall off the horse once or twice...get back up! :)

I fell off my routine this week but when life gives you lemons, make lemonade with Sweet n Low. I just remind myself that tomorrow is a new day and I will eat better and do my daily 30 min exercise routine. Focus on just one day at a time instead of reaching a loftier goal which can be discouraging if it seems unreachable when you let yourself down.

Chelle said...

how do you feel? isn't that REALLY the question? if you feel good, are making healthy choices of some find everyday, and are 'in it' then you are successful...the scale is not always the best judge of how we are doing on our journey! good job!

Yr blog is very cool. I love chocolates so it's difficult to lose weight :-) And I live most of the time in a country that loves food, so that's doubly hard. But I reckon you only live once, and as long as my weight isn't a big issue, I should be thankful. Cheers.

Just keep up the good work everyone :) I try very har myself, it's been though the last week with a lot of birthday-parties...

I also wanted to recommend a book, it's one of the best things I've ever read on the subject. It's called French Women don't get Fat
by Mireille Guiliano.
http://www.amazon.com/French-Women-Dont-Get-Fat/dp/0375710515

I lived in Franve years ago and when I moved there, I lost a lot of weight all naturally, and then, when I moved home to Norway again after some years, I put on the same weight. And then I found this book, read it and it all made sense...

Wishing you all a wonderful week and a lot of motivation for keeping up in the week to come!

this weight loss thing is hard! I hate jumping on the scales cause, well what did Forest Gump say? "Life is like a box of Chocolates, you never know what your gonna get"

So good luck to you, I'm also in that confortable zone, I have been for a while... ugh....Here's to hoping we all lose this week! :) Cheers!
