The Girl Who Dies With The Most Paper Wins

Happy New Year everyone! Are you loving 2009 yet? Well, I am. I had this total rush of energy yesterday. Maybe it was my new diet challenge with Lindsay (see entry below). Maybe it was getting the high score on Dance Dance Revolution. Maybe it was just having a fresh, new year with no mistakes in it.

Whatever it was, I went into my office. Looked at all my piles of creativity sitting around and got inspired to clean things out. If you're like me, you know that managing all your paper and scrapbooking supplies can be a tricky thing. Now imagine that each time you need a sheet of paper, your helpful business partner brings you three or four kits of paper from that line....... so that he won't have to run paper to your house as often. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying it really starts to add up.

But, lucky for you because I have lots of paper that I don't need. Some of it is cut, some packages are opened and no longer complete. Some are just like they'd be off the store shelf. The thing is, CHA is right around the corner and I'll have lots more packages of paper delivered to my house. And, although I love lines like Gretel, Dutch Girl and Hello Sunshine, I have to move to the new lines and the older ones, will be lonely, just sitting on the shelf.

So, I've put together four sets of leftovers. There are complete paper crafting kits from Dutch Girl and Halfway Cafe. There is leftover Blackboard, Buck Naked Chipboard, Ready Set Chipboard, Die-cuts, stickers, paper pads and loads and loads of paper and scraps. There has to be over $100 of product, maybe even $200, in each set. All you have to do is tell us your plans for the new year whether it's a resolution or goal or just something good you hope will happen. We'll enter all names into a drawing. The lucky winner will be announced on Tuesday morning when Larry the Temp will have his debut....... I wonder what he knows about our new releases?

****UPDATE**** There seems to be some confusion. The picture above will be one person's prize. I have three other sets similar in product and amount that will be the other three people's prizes. Yes, I do have A LOT of stuff. I think it's safe to say that I might be the girl with the most paper.

Alright Julie! Well, for me, I plan to see the sunny side of things this year. No more Debbie Downer. My reason: the birth of my beautiful baby boy Cohen on 12.26.08 and of course my 4.5 year old Stella. For them I must see all the positives that life has to offer. So, if you pick me, I will use my kit lovingly to assemble beautiful books for my kids.

My new year's resolution is to live and scrap with more meaning. Add more of me to my layouts. I also have my supplies and am ready to begin a scrapbook about me.

My scrap buddies know how crazy I am about your products. Thanks for the opportunity to win some.

Happy New Year to you all!

My goal is for freedom- Freedom from financial debt, freedom from eating instead of feeling and dealing, freedom from how I think I look and act and freedom to be who I really am. Those are my goals.

Wow, that's a lot of paper!!! =) My New Year's resolution is to...gain weight! I'm having a baby in July and just starting to pack on the pounds. Now that's a goal I can definitely achieve. ;)

Colleen said...

I hate to see scrapbooking stuff left behind and lonely. I will gladly take it off your hands.
For the new year, my goals are to eat healthier (I am going to try and eat 5 vegetables/fruits a day) walk at least 5000 steps every day and spend at least 15 minutes a day picking up stuff around the house. Scrapping wise, I want to get caught up with my oldest daughter's album.

mudmaven said...

WOW - that's a lotta paper! I could give it a new home, easy! This year I am going to try to get published and get healthy. If I succeed at either, I will be one happy camper. I've given up on resolving to get organized - not gonna happen! I live in comfortable chaos. ~chris

I don't usually make resolutions which means I don't break them. But this year my promise to myself is to use up as much of my scrapbooking supplies as I can so I can keep buying more. It's all part of moving my scrap room downstairs so my little one can have my current room for her play room. So instead of moving stuff I will try to use it. Already started my resolution on NYE.

Carolyn said...

My goal is to get more organized.........I've been trying and it's coming together, but needs more work.........half the fun of sbing is keeping things organized so it's easy to find what you want when you want it..........

- Create & FINISH albums for 2007 Disney Trip and the one I am about to take
- Complete or give away mini-albums & layouts from classes that I haven't put pictures on (and have had on the shelf for 1-5 years)
- Include myself in more pictures/layouts
- Finish projects before I start new ones (this is a hard one for me!)

and the one I am working on today ---
- purge and organize the scrap "stuff"!

AuBien said...

Oh....what a wonderful collection of fun! I would love to win it!

My goals for the new year are to eat healthier and sleep more. I am carrying around yesterday's list to remind me as a start what things to avoid. And I have decided a set bedtime with some nights up late planned in so I don't get pulled back into late nights all the time again.

Thanks for the giveaway!

My Plan for 2009 is definitely to be the one with the most paper. So no need for you to divide that lot into four equal Kits - just send them all to me....bwahhahahahaha

But seriously - this year I am going to USE mu stuff before I buy more. I have already started doing that and set myself my own challenge to "Shop from Your Stash". I go through all the stuff I have and make up a Kit. Once I put that together I have to scrap at least 2 - 3 layouts and 1- 2 cards from it before I cam put together another Kit....I am now on my second Kit and i love seeing stash come to the surface that I never knew I still had!

sandycpa said...

Julie, First of all, I'm addicted to your beautiful products! My scrapbooks are filled with your gorgeous papers...I can't resist them! Thanks for the opportunity to win free products!

My goals for the new year include continuing to scrapbook our memories, but more importantly, to prioritize making those priceless memories with my family. I work full-time, and sometimes it is hard to fit everything in, but I keep reminding myself that I won't look back and wish my house was cleaner during these fleeting years.
Thanks again!

My resolution for this year is to be less critical of my art and make more of it.

Also to be kinder and more patient.

Sis. Stokes said...

My biggest goal this year is to prepare for the arrival of my twins (due in May) and get as much crafting done before they get here so that I don't feel so guilty neglecting such things while babies need mommy full-time. Lots of homework on bottles, diapers, pumps etc. will also fill my new year, at least the first half of it. And I thought I was done studying when I finished college. :-p

ScrapAloha said...

My goal for this year is to find structure, whether it is, like writing a schedule or lists or whatever, I need to do it to move forward to my goals. I have been anti structure for a long time, but it's not getting me anywhere LOL, so I have to find the balance between the two.

Oh, and also I am not going to "time travel" anymore. I am going to consciously live in the moment. Now working toward goals while staying in the moment...a monumental task for me...LOL

Lauri {Scrap Attack} said...

Now that's some loot! :) This year I would like to take better care of "me." I think if I can do that, I will be happier and can take better care of the people in my life. And I'd like to exercise more (but I always say that!) LOL!

carabecca said...

Exercise more. I want to be fit!

I hope to be kinder, more thoughtful (and to find the right balance so that I don't become a doormat!). I also have a goal to become a more consistent blogger! Happy New Year to the Cosmo Cricket crew!

Well since we had record snow fall towards the end of the year which caused a lot of damage to personal property the something good that I'm hoping for is that dealing with 2 insurance companies will be as painless as possible and that we will see the light at the end of the tunnel sooner then later. When that mess is all taken care of my goal is to exercise more on a regular basis and hopefully lose some weight at the same time.

Susan Hackney said...

I have several goals for 2009. The first is to stamp more. At least make it into my stamp room 3 times a week.
Second is to save more. To really think before I spend and to look for deals.
Third is to become debt free and to stay that way.

Thanks for this great giveaway!
My number 1 resolution this year is to control my anger better by being a happier person. I, like most women, have many hats to wear on a daily basis and the stress can bring you down. So . . . I want to be a happier person this year. I need to "roll with the flow and stop being the dam that blocks the flow". If I do this, I will get much more accomplished (which makes me a happier person)!

Rach said...

Yep, I have a few goals for 2009! Like the rest of us.
Make more stuff. Its up in my heqad, I just need to get it on the paper.
Be organised.

Make my other half give up smoking.
Thats enough, it will take me all year to do those!
THanks.

my goals for 2009 are actually pretty simple. i want to be a better me... i want to read more, be a better mother, wifie, daughter to my faimly... i want to not be so angry and find healthy ways to express my feelings. i've been inspired by a fellow scrapper to scrap my issues and to not be ashamed of them... so hopefully with doing this, i'll be all that i can be! with the army of course hahahahahahahaaaa

WOW! Everyone has such great goals. My main goal is to take one day at a time - one step at a time - to hopefully add up to brand new habits in 2009.

- I've started by getting back into couponing and can't believe all the deals out there that I was paying full price on! My goal for '09 is to keep saving while shopping which means I'll keep more of the money I worked hard for.
- Organize once and for all! My intentions have always been good - I just need to implement, implement, implement.
- Better time management. Hopefully through organizing (above) and making an effort to schedule my day I can find more time for completing tasks and adding time to try new things - even if only one thing - in 2009!
- Work out. I joined a fitness club. That was step one. The next step is attend regularly. Baby steps...
- Lastly, hopefully through implementation of the above I can continue to grow and make me a better person!

OH MY, how lucky you are to be the girl with all the paper. My family was laughing at Christmas time, because my 7th month old only wanted to play with the paper and ribbons her presents were wrapped in but mommy got 3 sets of Cosmo Cricket PAPER for Christmas that she just wants to play with too! lol

I just posted on my blog my goals for the year, but they are pretty simple, some form of exercise and some form of crafting EVERYDAY!

Good luck on your food diet, those are some tough items to give up!

I have a few goals this year. I am currently working on my craft room/office. I want it to be functional and inspiring. It needs to be organize. I then also want to get the last bit of my baby weight off. He is 20 months old now, so I am not sure how much is "baby" weight. But overall I want to learn to say enough. . . to too much, to excuses, to bad thoughts, to insecurities, to negativity, to stress, to the need to fulfill everyone's wants and ignore myself. Enough to anything that brings negative thoughts and ideas into my life.

I read this in a friends Blog and it has inspired me to apply these words to my life this year...I am usually not so sappy but I want to be a better person...Thanks for letting me share...
"What Will Matter" by Michael Josephson

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought but what you built,
not what you got but what you gave.
What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories but the memories of those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

I have several goals this year. One is to scrap about my year each day in an A5 journal style book. I'm turning 30, so I thought it would be fun to write something each day...thoughts, what I did that day, whatever...just a snapshot so that in years to come, I can look back and see what life was like in 2009! I've never successfully kept a diary before, so hopefully I'll keep this one going!
