Tim Tam Temptation

We haven't given away a prize for a while, so I think we should do that today. But first, a Five Dollar Diet update.

Lindsay and I were strong all through CHA. We did not order cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory...... although others did. We did not eat any junk at Disneyland...... even as I watched my sister-in-law eating a chocolate-covered, frozen banana. We didn't even eat any of the Tim Tams that Cheryl from Aussie Scrap Source brought for us all the way from Australia (and that is saying something!). The $5 donation jar has only collected the one time donation from Lindsay's slipped profanity.

(Lindsay and I with our Tim Tams. This is the only photo I had, so please don't tease Lindsay too much for being caught in the middle of saying something! Oh and for those who don't know, Tim Tams are these super-yummy, chocolate-covered cookies.)

Eric and Lindsay both say that I am getting skinnier. I am starting to believe them since my pants are looser and I'm fitting into some that didn't fit before. I don't know what I weigh because Lindsay and I agreed not to weigh ourselves until April 1. But, Eric thinks I'm looking so great that he has decided to join us. It's nearly killing him!!! He has been "clean" for two days. GO ERIC!

How are your healthy efforts going? Let us know and you could win:
One package of Tim Tams
A Super Sweet Chemistry Paper Crafting Kit
A Scrumptios Snorkel Sampling
A Tasty Scarlet Blackboard Album

Now to hold you over until we find out the winner, feast your eyes on these fun projects by design team member Yukari.

What fun projects! Great for a snowy day!
Tim Tams are the best especially if you use them in your coffee like a straw and then stuff the whole lot in your mouth! Yum!
Oh just started a diet need to get back in the wetsuit!

Hmm...the healthy stuff is going fairly well, although I cannot seem to give up on my Coke.

I love all those projects!
I have been doing okay on my diet, i have been lossing 2lbs a week, except for last week I didn't lose anything. Maybe I'll stop stepping on those scales and wait until April 1st too.
Lindsay don't worry about the profanity, I am totally ashamed to admit that even though we have a
$.25 jar, due to my slips it will probably pay my kids way threw college.

Good for you guys!! You inspired me to fast from white flour, sugar and coffee on Fridays and the first Friday (and second and third) I had a *horrible* migraine. I finally figured out through some trial and error that it was the white flour. When I took that out of my diet -- no more headaches, and I'm feeling great! Thanks for the "push"!! :)

Rita S. said...

Ok - I confess I never heard of Tim Tams! But I am down a size! (LOL) No idea what the scale says - just now I was losing my pants and had to bring out the ones that have been stored away a while. :-)

Great projects! I especially love the Snorkel mini-album - cannot wait to get my hands on it to make one for myself, and for a class coming up this summer. The products are perfect for a summer mini!

You guys should be so proud of your progress. Everytime you update, I get re-inspired to get back on track.

So for starters, I stopped buying anything I like to eat thats "off-limits" And I eat nothing after dinner. So yes, these simple things worked in my 20s, but its time to step it up a notch. I have decided to reward myself with scrapook product for reaching certain milestones. Girl Friday will be my 1st purchase for the 1st 5 lbs!

I'm trying to use the Wii Fit as my motivation to exercise and lose weight. Those little stamps you get to put on the calendar are exactly the kind of thing I love! (Though I do feel a bit silly using a video version when I could make a much cuter paper one.

My hubby and I started the South Beach diet on Monday. So far, I've lost 5 pounds by cutting out all carbs except veggies and eating low-fat dairy and meat. Just 1.5 more weeks of this first phase before I can have fruit again. It will be worth it though!

I don't think I could diet without weighing myself. I totally need the daily feedback and motivation.

The tim tams are intriguing. I've never heard of them before, but they sound delicious!

Jingle said...

Well, it is great that you are succeeding in your goal! I'm not a "deprivation diet" kind of girl, so I am impressed! I couldn't do it! I go for the "everything in moderation" style, but I did lose 20 lbs, so that worked for me! Keep up the good work!

Sheena Richmond said...

Tim Tams....ohhhhh!
I'm contemplating the "niceness" of offering such a treat for good diet behavior!
I'm struggling to get to the gym through the 3ft snow drifts! LOL
But I'm not giving up!

Unknown said...

Never heard of tim tams, but would love to try them. As for how my healthy self is doing...my goal every night is to lie in bed with a growling stomach, and NOT eat anything until breakfast. So far, so good!

Cindy Chilton said...

Off to a slow start with the healthy eating thing. Trying to restart WW but 20 points doesn't go very far!

Those cookies really are the best. I have heard that Target is going to start selling them in the future for a very short time.

For me it has been all about cutting out sodas and portion control. Also Spending way to much time at the gym

How fun! I love the pic of you guys holding the tim tams!!

Well, my hubby and I have been doing the biggest loser diet and I can actually say that I lost 7 pounds last month! I've been exercising on a regular basis, and it feels so good to wake up sore in the morning! ;)

Kris said...

Have you ever done the "tim tam slam"? It's a rush! My diet efforts are OFF THE CHART! I havn't had one ounce of Sugar this entire year! No bread or pasta either. I'm down 8 pounds and can't wait for the rest!
PS Awesome release!!

I've been exercising but not dieting. I really should though, but I would love to try a Tim tam! lol Great job sticking to your guns guys!

I love your jar idea! I'm thinking of starting it with my coworkers! As for weight loss, my oldest son was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease. As a result, we've removed everything that contains gluten from our diets because of the cross contamination risk. It's amazing how much better I feel and I am not a Celiac! I'm also exercising - walking and playing Wii's Outdoor Challenge! It's soooo fun!

That album is SO cute!

Good to see you guys are doing so well on the $5 Diet. That's great :).

I've never had Tim Tams, but I'm willing to try, which means my weight is still going up, up, up. This is not good. I'm ready to be able to get on a good diet plan. I just haven't figured out what that will entail.

I think I'm doing pretty good. I don't know about the weight loss yet as I'm NOT stepping on the scale but I noticed that my breathing is much better these days and some of my clothes fit better. I am eating more fruit and we do have less junk food in the house. And when hubby does bring some in, I can go for days without touching any. but tis hard. lol

It's hard for me to loose some pounds because my husband always wants to eat good things or go to restaurants etc... Maybe I should do a Don't list like the one you did!!!!

The layout is adorable! The mini album is just fabulous! That line and album itself are just too fun that I can't wait to get my hands on them!

My healthy efforts were going well till I ended up having my baby girl 6 weeks early and spending a week in the NICU with her. Stress caused me to give into my cravings of my favorite candy that only comes out around Valentines Day (Brach's Cinnamon gummy/chewy hearts.....yummmmmm). As I slowly start to feel the stress leaving I'm doing better. I'm hoping to start walking today.

So far, so good. I am upping my exercise at the doc permits and I have stopped buying all junk food and eating alot more healthy. Slowly but surely I will take off the 50 lbs. I want to. I have to say that I have never had Tim Tams but they sound yummy.

Continued success with your new eating habits!

Loved the projects with the new lines....so cheery on this cold, snowy day in the midwest!

I haven't been doing that well... I'm just staying constant. With that said, I honestly have to tell you (and the internet world because this is going public!) that I haven't been trying that hard either. I'm ok with that though. :-)

Tim Tams? Never heard but sound yummy. I would love to take that off your hands. Anything to help you! Can't do diets, just throw on skinny jeans few times a week to make sure I'm still fitting in them and if not I make myself sit uncomfortably in them all day as my punishment and reminder. By the way LOVE the new lines. Must have!

I am actually doing pretty well with my exercising! I did not even think of giving up chocolate (I know myself better than that) but my chocolate fix has been the fiber one bar instead of the snickers bar. Not too bad for me. I am not weighing yet either - my goal is a certain number by my birthday which happens to be the big 40 this summer!!! :(

Ok.. so I just went away on vacation 3 weeks ago... and I put on a bathing suit in public. Need I say more? AND... I'm going away again in a month... with other people. And once again... I need to put on a bathing suit. sigh I need help. I heard Tim Tams were a FAB weight loss product. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Otherwise... I'm on my treadmill every day... and putting my box of parts, that will eventually be an elliptical machine, together after work. Tim Tams will also be great to eat while on these machines. They'll give me energy. Isn't that right??? Yes?

I need that other yumminess too. And I can't get fat.... er on it. :))))

Tanya said...

I wish my healthy efforts were going somewhere, but right now they all seem to be in my head...I keep looking at the treadmill, knowing I need to get on it, and never do. Something to work on I guess.

Congrats on fitting into older pants, that is awesome! As far as me..well, i stopped buying Doritos and bean dip, BUT...yesterday I had to go to the school to pick up my daughter's cookie dough fundraiser order, which of course meant baking cookies lastnight (and probably every night for a while)...so does limiting the baking to one dozen a day count for anything? lmbo! The only positive thing about it (as it's a total pain) is that it's a good reminder all the time to pay attention to everything, which has to be good. So nothing new to report but I try to do the right thing as best I can, helped by my great hubby who follows my dietary restrictions with me to help me.

Getting Tim Tams while you're on a diet is just cruel! LOL The toffee ones are delicously gooey - yeah I know..I'm a meanie :o)

Kudos to both of you for staying strong and kudos for Eric for joining you!
The Tim Tams sound yummy. And Yukari's projects are yummy too. Love, love, love the snorkel blackboard book!

I have tried to be good and not eat junk food for the past month but I have cheated a few times. I love the Snorkel Line gotta get me some of that soon!

Tim Tams sound great! I love the name :)
I am doing better on my health kick... A trip to Florida in 3 weeks always helps! The fear of showing skin gets me right back into shape...

Lovely post again! I am doing quite well with drinking only Diet sodas. Thats all I can manage right now. I would love to do better though.

I love everything, but I have to admit that I am IN love with the new spinners. As for a health kick, I am trying to take a multivitamin every night. How is that so easy to forget?

I had to restart my eating plan but back on track. I think I am going to pay myself for each time I do a work out. Then take the jar out to buy something fun.

You two keep it up - you CAN do it!

I pledged a couple of years ago to start eating healthier, but it's hit and miss. I HAVE successfully replaced all our milk with skim, switched out white bread for whole wheat, and all our pasta (which we love) is now whole wheat, too. My weakness is chocolate, and I'm constantly battling that one!

My no supper diet is going strong for 2 weeks now. Hanging in there and feeling good.

Yay for Tim Tams! I'm not doing so good at the moment...have been eating lots of naughty things recently! Need to get back on track!

This week I'm back on track... last week was a shocker... so I would say it's going... so-so..

I too can say that Tim tams are the best (seeing that I live in Australia, and there is some divine flavours!!)

Well.. my personal healthy efforts are going very well... despite being sick.. which is always a challenge. So, I'd be thrilled to get some goodies..... and I can always share the Tim Tams with my kiddos.... they don't need to stay away from the goodies!

I don't know TimTam's but I would love to put my diet beside me for one day to try them and at the same time scrap with some of your lovely stuff, LOL.

OMGoodness - I haven't had Tim Tams in forever! YUM! Of course, that kind of negates the "healthy" focus of this comment, huh? DH and I are doing WW - nearly 2 weeks strong now...and I've already dropped 5 lbs! :)

I've never heard of Tim Tams. We obviously don't have those in Indiana. Health-wise I'm holding my own. I need to exercise a little more. Great pages. Love the layouts.

Well I don't need the Tim Tams because I'm from Australia but I certainly know what you're raving about :) And if you want anymore, visit my blog www.bibscrap.blogspot.com and leave me a message somewhere with your address - would be happy to send some your way! As for my health efforts, have started playing badminton with some friends this year and cooking at home more instead of eating out all the time - very pleased with myself so far :)

My healthy stuff is going great! I'm an avid exerciser anyway, but as I approach 40, I'm noticing the bum starting to sag a bit! That's my area of concentration. . . it hurts now, but it'll be worth it! Great job on your healthy goals!

Aww the mini book is adorable!
At the moment I eat way too much junk food but since I just moved some days ago it isn't having any effect on me, the stress, running around, moving stuff around etc. is burning it all, heehee. But once I've settled I need to buy more veggies and fruit. Your progress is great, you're amazing!

I am still breastfeeding my babygirl of 6 1/2 months old, so I am not allowed to diet at the moment. But I try to skip the snacks... I try it...
I eat more fruit and veggies, the only bread I like is whole grain with good Dutch cheese (old cheese).
Have you ever eaten Dutch cheeses?? I mean Gouda, Edammer, Maasland etc.. so yummy...

How terrible to tempt us with cookies while we are trying to be good!

I have been hitting the gym 3-4 times per week and doing an hour of cardio. Not dieting so much, just limiting portions.
