We're Back

We're back from CHA with a TON of stuff to do. Maybe I'll get some show photos up. Maybe I won't. We'll have to see how it goes!

Here's ten things I learned at the show this year:
1. Don't order the Penne with spinach and ricotta at Basillico's.
2. Super Glue will not hold your shoes together for days on end. Maybe you'll get two days.... at best.
3. Humidity! Great for the skin. Bad for the hair.
4. Two men will argue whenever they are driving and lost. (hidden camera video footage to be posted soon.)
5. The girl at Potbelly's has a great memory. When I ordered my sandwich she said, "Is your name Julie? Do you own a company named "Cricket"?" I was amazed and we took her a bunch of scrapbook stuff.
6. I can't sleep in pajamas.
7. Fireflies are really cool and I wish we had them in Utah.
8. Locusts are really freaky and I'm glad we don't have them in Utah.
9. Gino's East is the best place for pizza.
10. The nice bathrooms are outside of the convention show floor. Go to the halls where the presentation rooms are and you'll be all alone in a nice, posh, powder room.

Please where did you see fireflies? I realized last summer my grandchildren had never seen any. How can you have a childhood summer without fireflies>

We saw fireflies across the street from the convention center on our way to the parking. It was Sunday night and we had left later than attendees since we had to pack up our crate.

You are so very right about the bathrooms, we shall have to scope out the good ones in Orlando for next summer:)

Cute blue shoes by the way!

You are too funny! I found those bathrooms too when I was in the Designer Showcase! I used them several times and I was all by myself each time! I do have to say that Giradano's pizza is better though... Maybe next time I'll have to do a taste comparison.
I can't wait to order your new stuff for my kit club! I didn't have time to come by your booth and I so wanted to see my friend Lisa's stuff too... Next time i will make it a priority! Take care, Laura

Tami,

It's not what it might seem. I usually sleep in "under clothing" to be polite. But at this show, I was sharing a room with some girl friends and being a generally modest person, I wanted something to cover up my "under clothing." However, since I haven't worn pajamas for at lease 20 years, can I say they are horrible!

So, here is my Ode to Pajamas:

One leg up, one leg down. Everything twisted all around!
Lying on top of a drawstring knot.
All the time feeling way too hot.

Are you serious, no fireflies in Utah?? I live in Western Kentucky and we have them everywhere. Actually we call them "Lightenin' Bugs" but we are Redneckish you know. Wow, You learn something new everyday. I just guess I take them for granted. I will definately look at them differently from now on.

Hi, Julie! It was so nice to meet you & Eric on Sunday of CHA!

Did not know that fireflies were hanging out in the parking lot! LOL!!

Aren't those bathrooms like the hidden treasure of CHA?! LOL!!

I have been compiling a list of "J" words & tips for ya since Monday...once (somewhat) complete, it will be on its way to ya! Haven't forgotten!

haha...got it ;)

Funny to think that you don't have fireflies! We have them everywhere out here in the boonies of Missouri; we usually call them lightning bugs. I grew up with them twinkling every summer so I never thought about not having them. Guess it is just one of those things you take for granted. It's pretty cool to drive by a field filled with them at night.

Too funny! I'm from and currently living in the Chicagoland area, and your take on the area is so humorous! Yes, fireflies, or lightning bugs (as we call them), are the best! My girls love to catch them and then release them. Locust are annoying! Gino's is wonderful for pizza, but Lou Malnati's is better!! Humidity is the worst . . . it does make hair do some pretty crazy things!!

LOL at your ode to pajamas! I'm glad someone else asked, cause I was thinking it. :)

Of course you would share the better bathroom situation AFTER you got home. hmmph. I was trapped at the sink in one of those bathrooms at the show! Terrible layout and the ladies kept coming!
Good to see you. I've been playing with Mr Campy allllllready.

You are a riot! Gino's East has the best thin crust, Giordano's the best stuffed coming from a woman married to a Chgo man. We live in VA now and also get to enjoy the lightning bugs, the kids love to catch and release. As to the pj's, I'm w/ya! I wear a long t'shirt when sharing a room because I can't stand to have the legs twisted all around! Love your poem!!!

I'm totally with you on the pajamas!! I just got back from a family vacation, and I HATE having to be fully clothed in bed.
