We have had so many grey days in Providence that we've almost forgotten what the blue sky looks like. I have decided that my children are going to look in the crayon box for sky grey instead of sky blue. It's been pretty dreary. So, I have a proposal. Leave a comment telling me your favorite "get happy" song. I will gift the first 10 plus the winner's choice from itunes to one lucky person who's name is drawn. You have to post your song to be entered.
I'll start with my favorite, "New Soul" by Yeal Naim.
Others I like are "Everyone's Rooting for You" by Sondre Lerche and, of course, "Hey Julie" by Fountains of Wayne.
I will draw the winner on Monday morning. It will be fun to see the songs everyone likes!

Anything from They Might Be Giants--Flood. Particle Man if I have to choose.
I am LOVING the New Soul song right now (tho it always makes me want to rush out and buy a mac.......LOL!) as well as Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield, oooohhh and I LOVE the song With You by Chris Brown - that one always perks me up!! *grin*
This is old school:
Lean On Me - the Club Nouveau version :)
How about "I Can See Clearly Now" by Jimmy Cliff...I love upbeat reggae songs.
I have to say I like Stevie Wonder's...."You are the sunshine of my life...and I will always be around you..." Can it get any happier?
I just LOVE the new John Meyer song, "Say", especially after seeing Dancing with the Stars dance to it last week!
Seattle is grey most of the time. We have to be really creative in our happy making! This is an old one: Celebrate... as in Celebrate good times come on!
(don't need to be in your contest) just wanted to participate ;)
Thanks Scrapaloha, I love that song too!
Hey Hey Sweet baby! "Head to Toes" by the mystical master Elvis Costello always puts bounce in my step (or seat) and a smile on my face ;-) I also love the Sondre Lerche song, in fact the whole CD (a suggestion from the other EC ;-)
Thanks for the invite and the inspiration
I like Dixie Chicks Sin Wagon
tamic,
I didn't realize who you were at first and I thought.... OH NO!!!! Not and Elvis Costello fan!!
I don't know why but this song always gives me a boost especially when I need inspiration. it is standing outside the fire by garth brooks. I know what you mean about the weather I live in Logan and it seems like we have had all three seasons (summer, spring and winter) all in one week. I am so ready for it to just be warm (not hot) for a while.

Bummer! I just missed the 10 :(
Well, here are songs that make me feel good:

Michael Buble- Everything
Van Morrison- Into the Mystic
But the best:
Blind Melon- No Rain
BAM!
I'm Walkin'on Sunshine, wooah! (Katrina and the Waves)
If you missed the 10, don't feel bad. You can still win the songs if you're name is drawn. And, I might amend the rules to just be 11 songs of your choice. It occurs to me that you may already have ones listed, or just not prefer some of them. I think it's just been fun to see what everyone likes, and I've been reminded of some great songs that I haven't listened to for too long!

I especially love oldies remixed into newbies... current favorites include:
Mercy, by Duffy
All Summer Long, by Kid Rock
These are great on a sunny day in the car with the windows down and your 7 yr old daughter in the back seat saying "Turn it up, mom!!"
I don't even have an Ipod. I got an MP3 player for Christmas and I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to dowload songs to it so don't enter me in the drawing. Just wanted to send a little bit of sunshine your way and let you know I've been playing with your blackboard gears. I made flowers for a girlie layout and they are quite fun. My daughter went to town with one of the robot shapes and his little face and she thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread. So yes. That one can be the best Cosmo line. For now anyway.....
Nothing turns around my day like Bubbly by Colbie Caillat~it's perfect for humming along while scrapping or anything else!
wow I didn't realized you were in Providence. I went to Johnson &Wales in Providence :)
Maggie

My son is really into the "Happy Monster Band" right now... my husband and I find ourselves singing along to their cheery songs constantly.
In the land of adults... my happy song has always been "Love you madly" by Cake... just makes me want to get up and dance.
